Get With the Guidelines®
What this recognition means
The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association recognizes this hospital for its commitment to providing high-quality stroke care:
Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award
Commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.
Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite
Meeting specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with thrombolytic therapy.
Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll™
Ensuring patients with Type 2 diabetes receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.
Rapid stroke treatment close to home
UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission, recognizing a commitment to rapid diagnosis, treatment and coordinated care for stroke patients. This certification means the hospital has specialized teams and processes in place to quickly identify and treat stroke, improving outcomes and supporting recovery.
When a stroke occurs, every minute matters. Longs Peak Hospital is focused on delivering rapid treatment to restore blood flow to the brain as quickly as possible.
One of the most effective treatments for many strokes is thrombolytic therapy, often called “clot-busting” medication. This treatment works by dissolving the clot that is blocking blood flow to the brain. When given quickly, it can significantly reduce the risk of long-term disability and improve recovery.
At Longs Peak Hospital, teams are trained to quickly recognize stroke symptoms, evaluate patients and begin treatment without delay. This coordinated approach helps ensure patients receive the right care at the right time. When a higher level of care is needed, patients can be seamlessly transferred within the UCHealth system for access to advanced stroke services.
For patients and families across northern Colorado and nearby communities, this means access to high-quality stroke care close to home. Providing timely treatment and coordinated care helps improve outcomes and supports the health of the communities we serve.

UCHealth Long’s Peak Hospital was designated in 2024 as an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Pathway to Excellence® hospital.
This achievement recognizes the hospital’s commitment to creating a positive practice environment where nurses are empowered to provide the highest quality of care.
