FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Front Range Cancer Specialists officially joined the UCHealth Cancer Care and Hematology team at the beginning of this month.

Front Range Cancer Specialists has been a trusted provider of personalized cancer care in northern Colorado for more than 10 years and officially joined UCHealth on Friday.

The five providers and support staff from Front Range Cancer Specialists are now part of the UCHealth Cancer Care and Hematology team. They are caring for patients at UCHealth’s Cancer Center on the Harmony Campus in southeast Fort Collins.

The clinic’s five providers – Dr. Farrah Datko, Dr. Ross McFarland, Dr. Diana Medgyesy, Dr. James Moore and certified family nurse practitioner Amy Wing – and support staff are now caring for patients at the UCHealth Cancer Center at 2121 E. Harmony Road in southeast Fort Collins.

“Our transition to UCHealth will create a stronger, more consolidated oncology group that will provide the most integrative, multidisciplinary cancer care in northern Colorado,” according to Dr. Medgyesy, medical director at Front Range Cancer Specialists. “Our patients will thrive under the enhanced supportive services currently available at the Cancer Center – education, genetic counseling, clinical research, emotional support, financial counseling, nutrition, massage and physical therapy to name a few, all under one roof.”

Now, with 18 medical oncology providers caring for patients at 11 locations throughout northern Colorado and southern Wyoming, UCHealth offers the most advanced cancer care close to home. Patients who receive care at UCHealth Cancer Care and Hematology facilities also access the experts at University of Colorado Cancer Center, the only Comprehensive Cancer Center in Colorado to be designated by the National Cancer Institute and one of just 45 in the country.

UCHealth has worked closely with Front Range Cancer Specialists for many years, so this partnership is a perfect fit, said JoAnn Lovins, UCHealth’s senior director of cancer services in northern Colorado. “We’ve always shared a vision and passion for providing the very best cancer care possible for the community. And one of the things that happens when you combine two outstanding organizations is you get the opportunity to glean the best practices from both groups to offer something even greater.”
