Services we provide

Pre-admission consultation

We want your birth experience with us to be extraordinary. To achieve this, the Birth Center at Highlands Ranch offers a free nursing consultation with one of our Birth Center Navigators. During this one-on-one appointment, you can expect to:

  • Take a tour of the Birth Center.
  • Share about you, your family, and your birth preferences with us.
    • A Birth Wishes form will be sent to you to help initiate some of your thoughts about your birth experience and help us learn about you and your preferences. Please bring this completed form with you to your appointment.
  • Get information to help you prepare for your special delivery.
  • Ask questions about your upcoming hospital stay.

Please schedule your appointment with one of our Birth Center nurse navigators between 30 and 35 weeks into your pregnancy by calling 720.516.3008 or emailing [email protected]. We offer daytime and evening appointments for your convenience. Appointments last approximately one hour.

You can also streamline your arrival at the hospital for delivery by pre-registering online or over the phone by calling 720.516.0170. You will need to have your insurance information available.

Delivery

  • Cesarean section (C-section).
  • Vaginal birth after C-section (VBAC).
  • Obstetricians, neonatology and maternal fetal medicine specialists.

OB/GYN hospitalists
An OB hospitalist is an experienced obstetrician/gynecologist physician who works only in the hospital. Their duties include inpatient consultations, seeing patients in the obstetric emergency department, monitoring laboring patients, providing care as required, and responding to precipitous deliveries and emergencies. They can also provide inpatient care during the antepartum and postpartum periods. These highly skilled hospitalists do not replace the care patients receive from their regular OB physician. Instead, they serve as an extension of the patient’s regular OB physician.

Our dedicated and skilled OB hospitalists are in the hospital 24/7 to ensure consistent, timely care for every patient entering the labor and delivery unit and obstetric emergency department. Also, they attend to patients who present to the hospital with gynecological emergencies and can perform surgery if needed. Their presence reduces wait times and delays in providing care, improves outcomes, and increases patient satisfaction. When an emergency intervention is necessary, or an unexpected delivery occurs, our OB hospitalists are already in the hospital to ensure immediate quality care for patients.

You can take comfort in knowing that our hospital is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by our team of experienced OB hospitalists. If you have an urgent need, our OB hospitalists are here for you.

Certified nurse midwives

Certified nurse midwives (CNMs) are experts in pregnancy, birth and women’s health. CNMs use evidence-based approaches within a nurturing, supportive environment caring for individuals throughout their lifetimes.

Midwives support an experience that is grounded in comfort and a holistic, personalized approach, with the assurance and options of modern medicine. All of our CNMs hold at least a master’s degree and are board certified.
