A Level III Trauma Center

We provide 24-hour emergency services that meet the needs of acutely ill patients of all ages. Expert trauma surgeons and other physicians, nurses, case managers and technologists dedicated to trauma care stand ready 24 hours a day to provide our community with top care for the critically injured.

We offer experienced trauma response and continuum of care for a variety of conditions, including broken bones, head trauma and any other injuries.

Trauma can be a life-changing event, but with excellent care, we can help our patients move forward. We personalize a treatment plan for each of our patients, working with them, their family and the team of doctors who will take over their care.

UCHealth’s DocLine is staffed with registered nurses who are available 24/7 to assist and facilitate all phases of transfer and consultation, including physician-to-physician contact, registration, bed assignment, facilitation of patient transport and RN-to-RN reporting.

Our services

As a Level III Trauma Center, we serve our local community through our ability to manage patients sustaining mild to moderate injury. Critically injured patients are stabilized then may be transferred to tertiary trauma centers or other specialty centers such as pediatric or burn centers.

  • Assessment and stabilization.

  • Care by board-certified physicians and emergency-credentialed nurses.
  • Comprehensive, advanced radiology and lab diagnostics.
  • Trauma surgery, including neurosurgery capability.
  • Emphasis on patient safety and comfort.

Our focus on recovery

The Level III Trauma Center at Longs Peak Hospital doesn’t just treat injuries. We go beyond the initial life-saving medical treatment to focus on a patient’s recovery, rehabilitation and re-entry into a healthy, active life. Education is provided to the patient on choices that may lead to healthier living and a quicker return to their active lifestyle.

We also understand that a patient’s family and loved ones are critical to recovery after a traumatic event. That is why we strive to get families involved as part of the care team. We understand the stress that family members can feel after seeing a loved one put in a life-threatening situation.

Injury prevention and outreach

PARTY program. Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth (PARTY) Program™ provides young people with information about traumatic injury that will enable them to recognize potential injury producing situations, make safer choices and adopt behaviors that reduce risk.
