Aurora, Colo. (April 5, 2017) – For the second time in a month, UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins and UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital in metro Denver each have been recognized as one of the top 100 hospitals in the nation by an independent study.

Becker’s Hospital Review named PVH and UCH as one of the “100 great hospitals in America” this week. The hospitals included on this list are industry leaders in innovation, quality patient care and clinical research, and they have received recognition across various publications and accrediting organizations.

“This honor is a testament to the dedication and passion of our nurses, physicians and staff,” said Kevin Unger, CEO and president of PVH. “We work hard to keep our patients safe, to deliver excellent outcomes at a reasonable cost and to provide the very best experience possible for our patients. We are doing a lot of things right, and that’s what this recognition is all about.”

“University of Colorado Hospital puts patient care, patient outcomes and patient experience first, and we are pleased to be recognized for these efforts,” said Will Cook, CEO and president of UCH. “As the only academic medical center in the region, UCH is committed not only to high quality care, but also to finding innovative ways to treat disease through the research and advanced medicine that our CU faculty physicians are leading.”

PVH and UCH are two of just five Colorado hospitals on the list, which is posted online on the Becker’s Hospital Review website. The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on analysis of several ranking and award agencies, including U.S. News and World Report’s 2016-17 Honor Roll and specialty rankings, CMS star ratings, Leapfrog grades, Truven Health Analytics top hospitals, Most Wired hospitals and Magnet accreditation.

PVH and UCH, along with UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, were three of five Colorado hospitals named last month to Truven Health Analytics’ 100 Top Hospitals list for demonstrating clinical and operational excellence. Hospitals do not apply and winners do not pay to market their inclusion on Becker’s Hospital Review’s 100 Great Hospitals list or Truven Health Analytics’ the 100 Top Hospitals list.
