Whether you need a routine checkup or have an injury or illness that can’t wait, we have different types of care for you to access. We make it easier to figure out where to go ahead of time.

Virtual Urgent Care ($)

UCHealth Virtual Urgent Care is available anywhere in Colorado. This type of visit works best when you need to discuss your care or symptoms but don’t need a physical exam.

Primary Care ($)

UCHealth Primary Care is your first stop for a lifetime of coordinated care. Primary care includes regular, preventive care and can also be an option when you’re sick or experience a minor injury.

Urgent Care ($$)

Some illnesses and injuries aren’t life-threatening, but they can’t wait for a doctor’s appointment. You can reserve a time online or do a walk-in visit to a UCHealth Urgent Care location.

Emergency Care ($$$$)

Our extensive network of hospital and freestanding UCHealth Emergency Care locations provides life-saving help for severe injuries and illnesses that need immediate treatment.

Call your doctor for help.

If there is a question about where to obtain care, a call to your UCHealth Primary Care clinic can be helpful. You can talk to someone who can help you navigate the system.

They can also help check the availability of a physician, confirm your insurance to make sure you’re covered, and schedule an appointment for you.

What are my care options?

Primary Care ($)

Your primary care provider can diagnose and treat many health-related conditions, including these and other issues:

Allergies

Your primary care provider will work with you on a personalized plan to treat your allergy symptoms. This might include a referral to an immunologist.

Asthma

You can control your symptoms with proven asthma treatment and management. This mainly involves medications that open the airways and learning to avoid asthma triggers.

Behavioral health

Our network of hospitals and facilities gives you access to evidence-based treatment from leading experts across Colorado. We offer behavioral health services for people of all ages, from infants, children and teens to adults at all stages of life.

Common cold

Some cold symptoms and flu (influenza) symptoms are similar. Make an appointment with your primary care provider if you have concerns about yourself or your child.

Wondering if Primary Care is right for your symptoms?

Virtual Urgent Care ($)

You can use Virtual Urgent Care to address and treat many conditions virtually, including:

Cold, flu, cough, sore throat, headache

If you are experiencing symptoms such as cough, fatigue, headache, fever, runny nose or body aches, Virtual Urgent Care could be a good first step to talk to a doctor virtually.

Cuts, scrapes, rashes, animal bites

Most rashes clear up fairly quickly and can be treated at home with simple remedies. However, some rashes need long-term treatment, so you should see a provider for a proper diagnosis and the right treatment plan for your skin rash and any underlying cause.

Seasonal allergies, sinus concern

Allergic reactions can happen anywhere in the body. They most commonly occur in the skin, eyes, stomach lining, nose, sinuses, throat and lungs, where immune system cells are found to fight off germs that are breathed in, swallowed or that come in contact with the skin.

Vomiting/diarrhea

Nausea is very common. When vomiting also happens, in most cases, it is due to viral gastroenteritis, food poisoning or morning sickness in early pregnancy.

Urgent Care ($$)

Urgent care is the right choice for treatment of these and other issues:

Sprains, strains or possible broken bones

Strains and sprains are similar injuries, causing bruising, swelling and pain to the affected area. Come to urgent care or see your provider if you:
• Can’t move or bear weight on the affected joint
• Have pain directly over the bones of an injured joint
• Have numbness in any part of the injured area

Sore throats, coughs, ear infections, fever, flu symptoms

Because each flu season is different and the virus evolves over time, UCHealth is equipped with the latest tools for detecting, treating and preventing the flu in our communities.

Sinusitis (sinus infection)

Your provider can determine if your congestion and other symptoms are due to a sinus infection and will develop the best treatment plan for your case.

Conjunctivitis (pink eye)

Conjunctivitis, commonly called pink eye, is an inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva, the transparent membrane that lines the inner eyelid and covers the white part of your eyeball. Because pink eye can be highly contagious, early diagnosis and treatment can help limit its spread.

Emergency Care ($$$$)

Emergency care is meant for severe injuries and illnesses, such as:

Head injuries, sudden non-typical headache or loss of vision (could be the sign of a stroke)

When the blood supply to the brain becomes blocked by a clot or tear in a blood vessel, it causes a stroke. If you or someone you know is experiencing stroke symptoms, call 911.

Chest pain or other heart attack symptoms

Common heart attack symptoms include:

  • Anxiety.
  • Pain in the back and/or jaw, and pain that travels down one or both arms.
  • Chest pressure, squeezing, aching or burning.
  • Excessive fatigue or weakness.
  • Feeling of fullness.
  • Nausea or vomiting.
  • Shortness of breath.

A full cardiology team will treat your heart attack, including cardiac specialists and emergency care providers.

Severe bleeding or poisoning

Minutes and seconds count when you’re faced with potential poisoning. Our toxicology experts specialize in evaluating, diagnosing and treating the health effects and poisoning that can result from exposure to:

  • Environmental and occupational toxins.
  • Chemical substances, including medications, and biological agents.
  • Hazardous materials, including pesticides, solvents, metals and gases.

Severe abdominal pain

Any abdominal pain could be serious, as the underlying cause may need immediate care. You should seek emergency care if your abdominal pain:

  • Comes on suddenly and is severe, especially in the lower right side.
  • Comes on suddenly in the lower abdomen on either side, and you’re a woman.
  • Gets increasingly worse in a short time.

The ER is not your only option. Get the care you need, hassle-free.
