As the largest and most comprehensive heart and vascular center in northern Colorado, UCHealth Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery is the region’s leader in cardiac care.

A regional leader

When we travel to your community, we provide personalized treatment planning and support.

Our medical team includes 20 cardiologists, 3 electrophysiologists and four cardiovascular surgeons, all with multiple certifications in various heart-related specialties supported by over 300 clinic specialists. Together, we offer a wide range of clinical support for our patients including nutrition, psychological counseling, research and rehabilitation programs.

Our vision is paramount in everything we do — to provide world-class cardiac care for our patients so that they can return to a normal life. Our staff members and experienced doctors, combined with our 35-year history, are why we are considered the region’s leader in all medical matters of the heart.

As the third-largest heart surgery program in the state, we perform twice as many cardiac surgeries as any hospital in northern Colorado and lead the region in completed pacemaker implantations, cardiac interventions and valve replacements (Source: Colorado Hospital Association).

From our clinics, hospitals and rehabilitation programs to our education and cutting- edge research, we serve patients with one important goal in mind – to keep hearts healthy.

Beating national standards

When you have a heart attack, every second counts. The faster you can receive care, the less damage there is to your heart muscle.

Through the cardiac alert program at Medical Center of the Rockies, patients having a heart attack get the swift treatment they need.

Our response times (measured in “door to balloon” times) are nearly twice as fast as the national standard. Door to balloon refers to the time it takes to get you through the hospital doors to a life-saving balloon catheter procedure to clear blockage.
