UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital again named No. 1 hospital in the state

UCH again named No. 1 hospital in Colorado.

For the ninth year in a row, U.S. News and World Report ranks UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), located on the Anschutz Medical Campus, No. 1 on its list of the state’s best hospitals. UCH is also ranked among the nation’s best in nine specialties including No. 2 in pulmonology & lung surgery.

UCH is nationally ranked in nine specialties, including the No. 2 ranking in pulmonology & lung surgery (lung and respiratory care), a distinction UCH shares with National Jewish Health. This is the first year that rheumatology, at No. 11, has been nationally ranked. Ranked specialties include:

U.S. News ranks four UCHealth hospitals among the state’s best. Medical Center of the Rockies and Memorial Hospital are tied for 6th in Colorado, and Poudre Valley Hospital is ranked No. 8.

The annual Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 31st year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures. For the 2020-21 rankings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 16 specialties, 10 procedures and conditions.
