Dr. Pomerenke began her career in general surgery in 1995, specializing in advanced laparoscopic surgery and breast surgery. In 2002, she decided to devote herself exclusively to breast problems. Now one of Southern Colorado’s most respected breast surgeons, Dr. Pomerenke treats hundreds of patients each year. She specializes in the diagnosis and management of cancerous and non-cancerous breast diseases. Dr. Pomerenke is dedicated to providing the highest quality medical treatment with excellent cosmetic results. She has extensive experience performing nipple-sparing mastectomies, and she is trained in oncoplastic surgical techniques that help minimize breast scarring and deformity.
Dr. Pomerenke received her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. She completed her residency in general surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. She is board-certified. Dr. Pomerenke is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and a participant in the Mastery of Breast Surgery program. She is also certified in Breast Ultrasound by the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She was recognized as a Top Doc by Colorado Springs Style magazine for five consecutive years.
