I aim to be an approachable health care provider and want my patients to feel welcomed to each visit. I approach my care for patients from a holistic perspective.
I strive to know them on a more personal level to understand what motivates or frustrates them in achieving their goals. When I understand what gives quality to a person’s life, this helps me to join them in prioritizing their health concerns, tailoring treatment approaches to the uniqueness of each patient, and partnering with them to achieve health goals.
When considering medical options, careful attention to risks/benefits, the potential impact on quality of life and functioning is paramount to discuss with patients. I strive to explain medical jargon in language and concepts that are understandable for patients and their families.
I know patients’ time is valuable and I encourage them to write out questions for their visit, so they feel heard, empowered and leave the visit feeling informed. Working in health care requires a lifelong passion for learning, which I approach with enthusiasm. If I don’t have an answer to a patients question I will certainly research it and circle back with them.
I grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia. In 2011, I completed my Bachelor’s of Science in nursing at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, while also minoring in gerontology and studio art.
I went on to work bedside nursing on a primarily surgical unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I thoroughly enjoyed this work but felt a calling to advance my education.
I went on to complete my Master’s of Science in nursing at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and became a certified nurse practitioner in 2016. My husband and I moved to Fort Collins in 2016 where I have been practicing as an NP.
We have been blessed with two little boys and are currently enjoying the many adventures of toddlerhood. I enjoy most outdoor activities including gardening, kayaking, camping, hiking and snowshoeing. I always appreciate a good book, scary movie or foodie recommendation.
