Our approach and supportive options

Our Center for Midwifery providers focus on the natural, healthy aspects of women’s care and work with you to decide what is right for you, including:

Natural childbirth with or without pain medicine such as epidural anesthesia or intravenous pain relief.

Nitrous oxide, also called “laughing gas,” for labor. This colorless, odorless and tasteless gas can decrease pain. We were the first and one of the only hospitals in the region to offer this option.

Complementary and alternative healing options through collaboration with other University of Colorado Hospital specialists and partner services, including:

Water births for the experience of calmness and relaxation in a birth pool or tub. We are the only facility in the metro Denver area to offer water births as an in-hospital birth option.
