Convenient location for health care services opens in Castle Rock

New UCHealth facility provides access to urgent care, family medicine and physical therapy close to home.

Castle Rock, Colo. (May 31, 2017) – Residents of Castle Rock and Douglas County along the I-25 corridor now have access to additional health services closer to home, with the opening of UCHealth Castle Rock Medical Center at 4404 Barranca Lane. The new location offers urgent care, occupational medicine, and physical therapy services and will begin offering primary care services July 17, providing patients access to UCHealth’s full network of care including hospital-based care, ERs and advanced medicine.

“UCHealth is pleased to bring to the Castle Rock community our innovative, leading-edge patient care in one convenient location,” said Lori Japp, physician assistant and UCHealth VP of urgent care. “The combination of family medicine services, urgent care, physical therapy and occupational medicine provides options for patients living in and near Castle Rock, so they can get quality care they need, when they need it. Our electronic medical record system integration provides a seamless transition of care when patients are referred to a UCHealth specialist.”

UCHealth Castle Rock Medical Center offers online scheduling for convenience and to reduce wait times for patients. No appointments are necessary to see an urgent care clinician at this location, but patients may visit the website to reserve one. Hours of operation for the urgent care and occupational medicine are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For urgent care, please call 720-733-5260. Hours for physical therapy appointments are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fridays. For more information, please call 720-733-5280. And, family medicine and urgent care both offer convenient, affordable access to school and sports physicals and immunizations. “Routine visits with a primary care doctor are the key to maintaining your health,” said Dr. Mihir Patel, a Castle Rock resident and family medicine physician who will be caring for the community’s patients at UCHealth Castle Rock Medical Center once primary care opens. “Through regular preventive care screenings and physicals, we assist patients in learning how to lead a healthier life. We coordinate care with specialists as needed, keep an eye on all medications that a patient might be using, and recommend changes in diet or lifestyle to promote longevity and wellness.”

With laboratory services and X-ray capabilities, urgent care clinicians can evaluate and treat a wide variety of illnesses and injuries including sprains, strains, or possible broken bones, headaches, upper respiratory infections, rashes, wounds and abdominal pain.
