Mindful mountain biking

Mountain biking is as much mental as it is physical. Follow these mindful mountain biking tips from Dr. Jonathan Bravman to help you stay focused on the trail and keep your tires on the ground.

If you prepare your mind for your ride, your body will follow suit. Be mindful and keep your gaze on the way you want to go. Your bike and body will follow your gaze. Look ahead at upcoming trail to have more time to react. Be break ready at all times with one finger on the breaks. When breaking, make sure to balance the front and rear break usage. Don’t be afraid to pick up your bike and walk to avoid any questionable areas on your ride. Always be on the lookout for other riders and hikers. Be mindful and ready at all times for challenges in the trail ahead.
