FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Patients are giving Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland and Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins high praise for putting patients first.

Both hospitals earned awards for the outstanding ratings patients gave in 2013, according to Avatar Solutions, a leading provider of patient satisfaction surveys throughout the nation.

MCR earned the Exemplary Service Overall Best Performer Award for the seventh consecutive year, which is every year since the hospital opened in 2007. This is awarded only to facilities that rank in the top five percent in Avatar’s national database with the highest combined score for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department and ambulatory surgery.

PVH earned the Exceeding Patient Expectations Award, which is awarded to hospitals that are exceeding expectations for the patients who are surveyed. The award is based on patient expectation about quality of care, reliability and customization before the visit.

“I am fortunate to work with some of the most compassionate and committed employees, physicians and volunteers,” said Kevin Unger, chief executive officer at MCR and PVH. “There have been a lot of changes in health care in the past couple of years, including several in our own organization. These honors demonstrate that our patients still come first. We strive to provide exceptional care to every patient, every day ‑‑ and we always will. Our patients and our communities deserve it.”

Lynn Ehrmantraut, the senior vice president of performance improvement at Avatar Solutions, said the Avatar awards show dedication to providing an excellent care experience to patients. “The awards indicate these organizations are listening and responding to patient feedback and committing to provide the best experience for each individual patient,” she said.

The hospitals will be recognized by Avatar Solutions at a regional event in the fall.
