See a primary care provider or specialist from the comfort of your home through a video appointment. Patients with access to a smart phone, tablet or a computer with a camera and a microphone can do a video appointment. If patients don’t have good internet access or a smart phone, they can do a phone visit instead.

Accessing a video appointment
A care team member will set up the appointment in your patient portal (My Health Connection) account. If you don’t have a My Health Connection account, download the UCHealth app or sign up today. If you have an account, log in using the app or sign in now.
Access and check-in for your scheduled video appointment on mobile
You will need one of the following: a computer or tablet with a working webcam, speakers and microphone or a smartphone.
A few things to remember:
- Complete the check-in process at least 15 minutes before your appointment.
- Digitally sign the consent and other forms on My Health Connection prior to your appointment. (You’ll sign your consent forms during check-in. Please make sure you complete the process before you start your appointment.)
- Ensure that you’re only logged in on one device. For example, if you plan to use your phone for the video appointment, log out of My Health Connection on your computer.
- Prepare for the appointment in a private place with a good Internet connection.
- After you click “Begin Visit” please click on the green “Join via the Browser” button.
Tips for a successful visit:
- On a PC use Chrome; on a Mac use Safari or Chrome.
- Be sure your Internet connection is strong enough to play video online.
- If you are using your phone for the visit, do not answer a call once you’ve clicked “Join your room.” If you answer another call, you’ll need to end the video appointment and start over again by clicking “Join your room.”
- Be sure the volume is turned up and the mute button is off.
After your video appointment:
- Your provider will confirm pharmacy details and send in prescriptions (if ordered), except prescriptions for controlled substances.
- Note: If, during the video appointment, the provider determines they need to see you in person, you will not be charged for the video appointment.
- The video appointment will be billed the same as an in-person visit.

If you are an existing patient, you can schedule an appointment through your My Health Connection account.
Can I schedule a specialty video appointment online?
No. Please call the clinic directly.
Can new patients schedule a video appointment?
Yes. New patients are welcome, please call your preferred clinic directly.
Can patients outside of Colorado receive care through video appointments?
Yes, some UCHealth providers are licensed to see patients in neighboring states, like Wyoming. If you’re interested and you live outside of Colorado, it’s best to call the clinic nearest you.
How soon can I get an appointment?
Primary care – If you are an existing primary care patient, you can view the earliest available appointments through scheduling in your My Health Connection account. If you are a new patient, please call the clinic and they will provide you with the earliest available appointment information.
Specialty care – For both new and existing patients, please call the clinic and they will provide you with the earliest available appointment information.
What is the cost?
A video appointment with your primary care provider or a specialist will cost the same as a face-to-face visit. Typically, patients pay the regular co-pay. In addition to people with private health insurance, Medicare and Medicaid recipients can also do video appointments.

I’m not very tech savvy. Will I be able to do a video appointment?
Yes. If you run into any challenges, a staff member will be happy to assist you.
How will my provider assess a condition that needs to be seen in person?
Many times, providers are able to access conditions such as a surgical scar that is healing, a rash or a close-up of your face if you think you have pink eye. Your provider can guide you on how to hold your phone or how to move closer to your camera on your computer.
Can I get a prescription filled?
In most cases, your provider will be able to send your prescription to your preferred pharmacy to be filled.
I scheduled an appointment, but I need to cancel or reschedule it. How do I do that?
Patients can cancel appointments through their My Health Connection (patient portal) account.
