I like to think of myself as a “health coach” and through preventative care and patient education keep my patients healthy. We live in the 21st century and have excellent resources for patients with various medical conditions; but I try to emphasize that nothing is more important than a healthy lifestyle. I think it is very important to stay active and eat healthy in order to take care of our body and mind.
In family medicine we take care of all age groups and I really like that. I enjoy working with the pediatric population, whether it is an acute visit or well child exam. I am also interested in helping people with allergies and asthma. The biggest aspect of family medicine that I like is preventative care.
I am currently not involved in research but I am interested in the treatment of allergies.
I chose UCHealth because it is a large organization with lots of resources. I think that working in a large integrated system like UCHealth helps to improve patient care.
Why got in profession?
I always wanted to help people to be healthy. I like the science behind medicine. I like to solve problems through the knowledge and experience I have.
I like to spend free time in nature, hiking and camping in summers, and skiing in winters. I love to travel and learn about new cultures.
I am from Slovakia, a small European country. I met my husband, originally from Denver, while in medical school in Prague, Czech Republic. It was my husband who introduced me to beautiful Colorado and convinced me to stay in the U.S. I am a big pet lover and have two rescue dogs.
