Saving Delvin’s leg

After facing amputation, Delvin is back and has the pictures to prove it.

Delvin suffered a complex leg fracture after he fell from a ladder while painting. After a serious infection set it, he was facing a possible leg amputation.

A photographer, Delvin says that 50 percent of photography is “being there’’ to get the photo. He worried that his desire to make great photographs might be lost if his leg was amputated. Delvin turned to the limb restoration team at UCHealth to stop the infection and saved his leg.

“Now, he’s back to doing the things he loves. And, he’s ecstatic with the outcome, as am I.” Dr. Jason Stoneback, director, Limb Restoration Program, UCHealth.
