The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting training exercises in a vacant portion of Poudre Valley Hospital, 1024 S. Lemay Ave., in Fort Collins from 1-9 p.m. on Wednesdays starting this week.

Neighbors, visitors and passersby may notice an increase in law enforcement presence in the area as a direct result of the training. However, all departments of the hospital will still be operating as usual.

The exercise will be conducted in the oldest section of the hospital, which is southeast of the intersection of Lemay Avenue and Doctor’s Lane. This section of the hospital is slated to be demolished later this year.

It will be replaced by a two-story structure that will feature a new, expanded emergency room, a new orthopedics unit and space for laboratory services other support services.
