Rita Stern came to Colorado from the New York and New Jersey area. After many years working in the veterinary field, she decided to switch to humans. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree as a family nurse practitioner then went on to receive her palliative care certification from University of Colorado, Denver. She has worked for UCHealth since 2001.
When not providing geriatric care at FMC, Rita is also an acrylic artist and loves to trail ride with her horse, in addition to camping, kayaking and fishing.
