I strongly believe in a holistic approach to medicine. Incorporating the body, mind, environment and spirit is a key to achieving one’s personal best health. While one system in the body may be ailing, that impacts are far reaching beyond that single system. Addressing the root cause is a large part of healing but we cannot ignore how it impacts everything else. In focusing on an individual as a whole, health becomes balanced through the various aspects that makes one an individual.
Family is the most important thing in the world to me. They are my rock and my cheerleaders. I am lucky to call myself mom to two young, very active boys, a wonderful husband and two dogs. We enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors whether it be going hiking, mountain biking, camping or hauling off to various sports practices and games. At the same time, we are homebodies and enjoy relaxing and playing games or having a family movie night especially on cold and windy days.

Never ending! My master's thesis was focused on outcomes of early heavy antibiotic exposure with a focus on the gut microbiome changes. I have currently been focusing my nighttime reading on multisystem diseases such as hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia, and Chronic Fatigue/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. The reason I am so drawn to medicine is the never-ending ability to learn new things and challenge our our thinking and practice bas new research emerges.
