As a clinician, I strive to advocate for my patients by making medical recommendations followed by a discussion on how to potentially implement these recommendations in a feasible manner to try to maximize health and well-being. When I started my career, there was a wonderful physician I worked with, whose philosophy was “do not be sad if you have failed to change the world, be grateful if you have eased one person’s suffering for one moment in time”. I try to adhere to that philosophy.
