My goal for each patient is to help him or her live active and independent lives. Many of the conditions that I see in primary care are due to dietary choices, physical inactivity, dealing with stress and making good lifestyle decisions. While medications are a valuable tool and have the role, I believe the best medicine is a healthy diet and regular physical activity. To that end, I see my role as helping patients and their families become active participants in their healthcare. In my specialty, I consider it a success when I can help patients minimize unnecessary hospitalizations and procedures, navigate the health care system effectively and remain active as long as possible.
