After growing up in Colorado Springs and attending undergrad in Upstate New York, I joined the Peace Corps and moved to Peru. During my 2 years there, I worked with moms, babies and adolescents doing various public health projects. That experience is what ultimately drove me to family medicine. After completing my Peace Corps service, I attended Georgetown University School of Medicine. Then, looking to return home to Colorado, as well as train in full spectrum family medicine, I completed residency at the Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency. During residency, I continued to develop my interest in obstetrics, treatment of substance use disorders, care of underserved patients and teaching. After graduation, I remain with the residency program as a Faculty Development Fellow.
