Brenda VanderWel grew up on a dairy farm in South Dakota and developed a love for science and medicine at a young age. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Dordt College and graduated with honors from University of Nebraska College of Medicine Physician Assistant Master’s program with a specialty in family medicine.

She has experience in rural family medicine, emergency room medicine and asthma and allergy. Her particular interests are urgent care, women’s health and primary care for all ages. She has lived in Colorado Springs with her husband Cor and three children the last 20 years. She enjoys gardening, piano and getting together with family and friends. She is board certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the Colorado PA Association and the American Physician Assistant Association.
