I believe in a patient-centered approach grounded in compassionate communication, an approachable style and personalized care. I am known for my even-tempered and steady personality and value building strong connections with my patients. My goal is to partner with patients to improve their overall health by utilizing risk-reduction strategies, including preventive care.
I grew up primarily in a small border town, Eagle Pass, Texas. As the child of migrant workers, I also spent part of my childhood living seasonally in Washington State until the age of 15. I earned my medical degree from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. I then went on to complete my Family Medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of the Permian Basin, followed by a Sports Medicine fellowship at UTRGV at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing basketball, hiking, skiing, watching movies, and working on DIY and home improvement projects. An interesting fact about me is that, during college, I was a member of the women’s basketball practice squad at Texas A&M University, which won the NCAA Division I Championship in 2011. My favorite sports team is the San Antonio Spurs.
