Karen Garvey joined UCHealth in 2024 and is responsible for internal and executive communication for the metro Denver region. Garvey spent decades as a journalist, a career that took her from her hometown of Phoenix to newspapers in southern California, Philadelphia and Fort Worth, Texas, before landing in Denver. Here, she spent 15 years reporting on numerous topics, including medicine, for The Denver Post. Garvey and her husband, Bob, have a grown son, Nicholas. They live in Denver with dogs Rufus, a very good boy, and Larry, who’s working on it.
