Dr. Rana joined UCHealth Hematology and Oncology in Colorado Springs in 2013. He graduated with honors, including a distinguished academic excellence scholarship, from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. Dr. Rana completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed a one-year fellowship in medical oncology at Temple University/Fox Chase Cancer Center and a two-year fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Rana served as a research fellow with the division of radiation oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. In addition, he holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Texas School of Public Health.
While at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Rana conducted research on pancreatic, head and neck cancers. While at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Rana achieved the academic rank of assistant professor and conducted extensive research on multiple myeloma.
Dr. Rana is the author of numerous publications; he has been published in several prestigious journals and has presented nationally and internationally. Dr. Rana is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology.
Dr. Rana believes in a holistic approach to patient care – that treatment and healing involve more than just medication. He strives to be a trustworthy, empathetic and dedicated physician and friend to his patients through their cancer journey. Dr. Rana was drawn to UCHealth’s multidisciplinary team because it allows him to provide comprehensive therapy tailored to each patient’s specific treatment needs.
Dr. Rana is fluent in Hindi and in his free time he enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling and learning about new cultures.
