As a physiatrist, I practice patient-centered care to help those who have had a life-altering injury or illness. My main goal is to help improve a person’s function and quality of life. In situations where the condition is temporary, my goal is to help expedite the process. This could involve lifestyle modification, crafting a treatment plan with occupational therapy/physical therapy/speech language pathology, prescription medications, targeted injections, bracing/orthotics and a variety of other modalities. Although some of the conditions I encounter may be permanent, it does not mean that it should prevent a person from being able to enjoy their life. I believe my role is helping guide a person down the path that works best for their life and goals.

I am also board-certified in electrodiagnostic medicine, which can be used to diagnose muscle or nerve problems in cases of functional decline without a clear cause. Often, the first step to having functional recovery is to clearly identify the cause.
