A native of Boulder, Dr. Woodard joined Estes Park Health in May of 2000. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska and performed his residency in General Surgery New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Woodard is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
As an undergraduate at the University of Nebraska, he was a three-year varsity football letterman playing wide receiver. Dr. Woodard lives in Estes Park with his wife and has three sons. He served as Chief of Staff 2005-2006.
After years of working as EPH’s primary general surgeon Dr. Woodard spent some time as EPH’s wound care specialist. While he still performs those duties, he now operates in rotation with Dr. Jennifer McLellan as part of EPH’s employed general surgery team. Dr. Woodard brings decades of experience and provides the highest quality of care to his patients, while taking time to help those patients understand their procedures and medical needs.
In his free time Dr. Woodard enjoys skiing, hiking, hunting, and fishing.
