I prefer the holistic approach – looking at people as a whole person, and not just symptoms or a disease. This is where the Art of Medicine is important. But, this is also a science; based on facts, data, and research. I believe it is important to integrate these two seemingly disparate approaches to find a path to wellness and happiness.
I started working in medicine when I was very young. When I took my first EMT class, my mother had to drive me. I was not old enough for a driver’s license. Since then, I have practiced medicine in one form or another on five continents, in all kinds of conditions.
