Surgical illness can be unexpected, frightening and disruptive to a patient’s life. I strive to provide compassionate, evidence-based care while ensuring that each patient feels informed, respected and supported throughout their surgical journey. I believe surgical care requires more than clinical expertise. It requires listening carefully to patients and their families, understanding their goals and concerns, and communicating complex medical information in a way that is clear and accessible. Whether caring for a patient with an acute surgical condition, preparing someone for an operation, or guiding them through recovery, I aim to involve patients in decisions about their care and advocate for their individual needs and preferences.
Ultimately, my goal as a PA is to be a knowledgeable clinician, a compassionate advocate, and a dependable member of the surgical team. I hope every patient I care for feels that their concerns were heard, their questions were valued, and their care was approached with both clinical excellence and genuine compassion.
When I am not working, I spend a lot of time with my brothers attending local and headline music shows, playing music together, or going on hikes and camping trips. During my alone time, I enjoy writing, whether it be poetry, short stories, manuscripts or lyrical writing.
Immediately after graduating PA school in 2024, I opted to complete a post-graduate residency training program at Duke University Hospital. Here I trained alongside PGY-1 general surgery residents (interns), rotating in a plethora of surgical sub-specialties such as trauma/acute care surgery, colorectal, hepatobiliary, breast, endocrine, thoracic, vascular, and neurosurgery. I also had rotations in intensive care in their surgical ICU and cardio-thoracic ICU.
