Throughout my career as a physician surgeon, I have always believed in the equal partnership between the physician and patient. I incorporate evidence-based medicine, best surgical practices, and decades of conscientious clinical experience to educate patients and their loved ones to determine together their best treatment options, whether it is operative or non-operative management. I will spend as much compassionate and empathetic time as necessary to counsel them, to answer all of their questions and to put them at ease regarding the treatment plan that we formulate together. I truly believe that open communication, conscientious care for the whole patient and diligent availability throughout the process paves the pathway to successful outcomes and high patient satisfaction.
I have been very fortunate with all the opportunities that I received being an immigrant to the United States. I have always had a sense of service to pay back the opportunities that I received. This started with my service to the military by attending the United States Air Force Academy for my undergraduate education. This subsequently led to my service in medicine. I have had the privilege of serving as the Chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery & Bariatric Surgery at regional U.S.A.F. hospitals, as well as a combat surgeon during multiple deployments throughout my 20 years of active service before I retired from the U.S.A.F. in 2020. I have also had a strong sense of family values, which led to my return to the Denver area where I grew up in order to set down roots near extended family. Now, I have been fortunate to find a phenomenal work family with the U.C. Health Medical Group, which shares all the same values that I admire in surgical practice.
Outside of surgery, I love spending time with my dogs and extended family. I enjoy watching and participating in sports and outdoor activities including: soccer, long walks, hiking, fly fishing, camping and snowboarding. I grew up in Colorado, but I continue to be in awe with all the hidden gems that the Centennial state has to offer.
