It’s my care philosophy to provide care with empathy, integrity and an honest effort toward every patient.

Neurologists often get to be the medical detectives for the body. I was drawn to the logical and systematic approaches that are used in neurologic formulation and localization, coupled with the fundamental tools of the patient history and physical examination. Neurology remains deeply in touch with the long-standing traditions of the doctor-patient relationship, and the advancing treatments and technologies allow for improving care options for our patients.

Modern healthcare is a team endeavor, and I appreciate the depth and range of expertise that is offered by UCHealth. Patients are best served by a coordinated effort that focuses on their goals of improving their health, and I am looking forward to contributing to this network.

Beyond caring for patients, I enjoy hiking, camping, beekeeping and classical music. I am married with three children.

Clinical interest for patients

Generally, my clinical interest is to help patients optimize their physical and mental health. Neurology involves understanding the brain, spinal cord and nerves, in both illness and in health, as well as how other medical conditions may interact with the nervous system. I enjoy collaborating within the wide range of neurological care, including stroke, headache, epilepsy, movement disorders and neuropathy.

Research interest for patients

Consciousness and the molecular nature of thought formation has always been a fascination of mine. My graduate studies were in developmental neurobiology focusing on the branching patterns of the serotonergic neurons in the fruit fly.
