I chose to practice neurology because of the close patient and physician relationship which often builds from diagnosis to treatment in the conditions that we treat as a specialty. My goal is to provide a patient-centered approach to care by connecting on a personal level with my patients and working together to determine the best treatment path based on their individual circumstances and life.

I was born and raised in a small town in Iowa and moved to Chicago for my undergraduate education and medical training. I have always had a close connection to Colorado, through yearly ski trips starting in my childhood to Keystone and visiting close family friends who lived in Colorado Springs, which is what largely brought me to here for my career.

Clinical interest for patients

I am an adult neurologist with a special clinical interest and additional subspecialty training in neuromuscular disease.

Research interest for patients

My research focus is on the future of treatment for a variety of both genetic and acquired neuromuscular conditions, which includes a broad variety of muscular dystrophies, myasthenia gravis, chronic inflammatory polyneuropathy, and motor neuron disease (ALS) among many others. I would hope to provide the most up-to-date treatments as well as provide information on how to participate in clinical trials to my patients with these conditions.
