I believe in providing compassionate, evidence-based medical care to all children. I strive to create joyful and trusting partnerships with my patients/families to help them develop healthy habits, understand their medical questions and problems, and connect with the medical care or resources they need to thrive. I enjoy learning about their home, school and community environments; this really helps me understand how to meet their medical, emotional and social needs to provide more comprehensive and effective care.
I strongly believe a child can participate in their school classrooms, extracurricular activities and community groups/clubs regardless of their medical, social/emotional, or cognitive barriers. I enjoy working with families, schools, advocates and local organizations to help every child reach their dreams and potential. My experience growing up in a rural town, being a 4-H member, and helping with therapeutic horseback riding taught me the value of a “village” to raise happy and healthy children!
A key component of my practice is the integration of trauma-informed care principles. I work with many foster families and also recognize that many children/families outside of the foster system have experienced adversity or trauma, which can significantly impact health and development. I strive to create a safe, trusting and empowering environment to support resilience and healing in the children and families I serve.
I grew up in rural Nebraska and stayed there for medical school. I then did my pediatric training in Oklahoma before moving to Colorado Springs with my husband, children and dogs in 2020. I enjoy exploring Colorado and traveling with my family, working in my garden, reading new books, and spending time with horses, dogs, and other animals.

I enjoy helping prevent illness, hasten/support the healing process, and celebrate growth and developmental milestones. Additionally, I am particularly passionate about supporting children with neurodivergence, including those with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia and other neurological, developmental and cognitive differences. I have a strong commitment to addressing mental and behavioral health needs, recognizing the importance of early identification, intervention, and ongoing support for children and their families. Additionally, I enjoy caring for children with complex and special health care needs. For all of my patients, I strive to provide individualized, multidisciplinary care that supports each child’s unique strengths and challenges. I learn many new things each day from my patients, their families and their care teams!
