I aim to provide the most thorough and individualized evaluation that I can, then combine that with nearly two decades of experience and the most recent research/evidence-based medicine in order to quickly make the right diagnosis and plan. After that, we will work closely together to review all the treatment options and select the best path to get you sleeping and feeling well again. Even if the initial plan doesn’t work out as anticipated, I will continue to work with you until you feel better. It is amazing what a good night of sleep can do. I am frequently amazed by patients who are almost non-functional when we first meet and within a month of treatment are completely normal.

I grew up in New England, went to school in upstate New York, then spent many years in practice in Northern Virginia/Washington DC before finally moving to Northern Colorado in 2015. My wife is a nurse and we have 3 kids and 2 dogs. In my spare time I enjoy running, skiing, brewing and camping at our property outside of Laramie.

I was looking for a well-organized, well-respected and strong organization to take my practice to the next level. I truly believe that UCHealth is the premier health care organization not only in Colorado, but also the surrounding states. Our sleep program is rapidly growing, progressive and has been the first in the Rocky Mountain West to offer novel treatments such as hypoglossal nerve stimulation therapy. We are also one of the world’s leading centers for cardiophrenic nerve stimulation therapy, a novel treatment for central sleep apnea.

I am also clinical instructor at CU School of Medicine and enjoy teaching our residents as well as the medical students at the Fort Collins Branch of the CU Med School.

Clinical interest for patients

I love to treat all sleep disorders, but I especially enjoy working with sleep apnea patients. I have a particular interest in helping people adapt to CPAP even if they are struggling or have previously failed. My other interests include non-CPAP alternatives for sleep apnea such as hypoglossal nerve stimulation therapy (a novel minimally invasive surgical option), and advanced modes of non-invasive ventilation for patient with complex respiratory, cardiac and/or neurological problems.
