My primary clinical background as a registered nurse and now as a nurse practitioner has been in emergency/urgent care medicine and I have been privileged to be in this field for over 11 years now. While treating patients and their families in this environment, often times I find that people are worried — about their diagnosis, their prognosis, their treatment plan, as well as the costs that may be associated with their care. I pride myself as taking a patient-centered approach to my care and empowering people to be the leaders of their own treatment plan. I feel that if my patient and their family are fully educated, that they will be equipped with the tools that they need to getting back on track with regular life after their visit. These decisions, of course, are made on sound clinical judgement. I also tend to, when appropriate, incorporate humor in my visits to help put people at ease during this stressful time. I feel that one of the most important (if not the most important) roles of my job is to provide people with the greatest amount of peace of mind possible.
About me: First and foremost, I am a proud follower of Jesus Christ and seek Him as the ultimate healer, and do my very best to work through Him when treating my patients. I serve my local church and am also a Youth Leader. My main interests are cooking and entertaining others, traveling, going on missions trips whenever possible, working out, performing DIY projects on my home and spending time with my two sweet dogs.
