I believe in treating each patient as an individual. Although we perform surgery regularly, it is usually the patients first time and the unknown can be scary. Really listening to each person and how they feel and what their medical preferences are is important. Information is key. Taking time to explain everything that is going on with the patient and their family and what the options are so we can all feel comfortable making informed decisions. I really enjoy getting to know my patients and try to communicate with them each step of the way.
I believe that work-life balance is important. My family and I love the outdoors and spending time on the mountains or in the water.
