I have worked as a women’s health nurse practitioner since 2009, initially for a small private practice but the last 2+ years in corporate practice. Prior to that time, I worked for 10 years in maternal child health caring for antepartum, laboring patients, postpartum and gynecological patients. I also cared for infants in the NICU and regular nursery as well as return/ill visits for infants up to 1 year of age. It was a great amount of variety and experience. Prior to nursing, I worked in education for a few short years. My approach to the care of women across the lifespan is rooted in the goal of aiming to provide women with knowledge to enable them to pursue their best health possible. I enjoy having the opportunity to participate in the care of women as they come in for yearly annual exams, birth control consultations, prenatal visits and problems that arise during different phases of life. It is through these ongoing relationships that I am most rewarded. I am always striving to learn and grow in practice and clinical skill and actively seek out opportunities for continued learning.

I am originally from northeast Nebraska having lived many years of my life in a rural area near Omaha. I am married and have 3 children, a son aged 9 and daughters aged 18 and 27. On weekends, we can be busy with club wrestling with my 9-year-old son or exploring nearby trails or antique stores in neighboring mountain towns. I have 2 grandchildren, aged 5 and 2. We have 2 dogs who keep us busy as well—a 14-year-old Maltese and a 1-year-old mini Aussie. I enjoy lots of outdoor activities including hiking, ice-skating and running, and I have recently re-learned skiing. I enjoy reading, painting with oils and acrylics and when I can get there, the occasional weekly yoga class. I am active with my neighborhood book club and church activities. Additionally, I love to travel and recently completed a medical mission in Kenya and hope to do more in the future.
