I wanted to be a doctor ever since I was in elementary school. I grew up in a small town and the only doctors I knew of were family doctors, and that is what I wanted to do! I enjoy taking care of patients of all ages and especially seeing multiple generations of families. For the first 16 years of my career I delivered babies. I have had the privilege of caring for and watching many of those same babies grow up while also caring for their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents.
I think it is of utmost importance to get to know my patients well. I enjoy answering lots of questions and educating my patients and their families so that they can in turn make well-informed decisions about their own health.
I am originally from Canada and grew up in Iowa and Michigan. We moved to Colorado for my Family Medicine residency at Poudre Valley Hospital in 2005 and have been in Northern Colorado ever since. My husband and I have 3 kids, one in college, one in high school and one in middle school. We enjoy spending time together in the mountains and going to our kids’ various activities and concerts. I also enjoy baking and singing in our church choir. I am fluent in Spanish and spent semesters studying in Spain and Honduras while in college.
