A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Dr. Lemos-Filho graduated with distinction in research with a Doctorate of Medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York, after completing his Bachelor of Arts at Harvard College. He then trained in internal medicine at NYU/Bellevue and completed fellowships in infectious diseases and critical care at Montefiore/Einstein. He practiced critical care at several hospitals in the New York area from 2002 to 2013 until he joined National Jewish Health and moved to Denver with his family. After his tenure as ICU medical director and medical staff president at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, he is now joining UCHealth Longs Peak and Broomfield Hospital as chief medical officer.
