My philosophy of care is grounded in the belief that effective pain management begins with seeing the whole person, not simply the diagnosis or pain score. Pain is a complex and highly individual experience that can have an affect on physical function, emotional well-being, relationships and quality of life. I strive to create a safe, respectful and collaborative environment in which patients feel heard, believed and actively involved in their care.
I recognize that every patient brings unique experiences, values, cultural perspectives and goals to the treatment relationship. I therefore individualize care while balancing symptom relief with safety, functional outcomes, medication risks and long-term health.
Above all, I believe compassion and clinical accountability must coexist. Patients living with chronic pain deserve empathy without stigma and without judgement. I aim to build therapeutic relationships based on trust, honesty, shared decision-making and clear communication. Through ongoing assessment, education and collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary team here at UCHealth, I strive to provide ethical, equitable and evidence-based care that helps each patient move forward toward a life that is more functional and meaningful.
