As a trauma and emergency general surgeon, I often meet patients and their families during some of the most frightening and stressful moments of their lives. My priority is to be a calm and reassuring presence during these difficult times. I take the time to clearly explain all pertinent details of a patient’s condition and surgical plan, ensuring that every question is answered and that patients feel informed and supported.

I deeply value the physician–patient relationship and strive to build trust through compassion, kindness and empathy. By engaging in shared decision-making, I work collaboratively with patients and their families to provide care that aligns with their values and needs. My goal is to not only deliver excellent surgical care but also to bring comfort and clarity during times of uncertainty.

I come from a large Italian family, where I learned early on the value of building strong, meaningful relationships. My inspiration to become a physician began when I watched my grandfather’s journey with Alzheimer’s disease, which sparked my passion for caring for others during life’s most challenging moments. I live by the motto, “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” and strive to embody that in both my personal and professional life.

Outside of work, my husband and I are adventurous and love spending time outdoors, especially hiking in and around Colorado. We are avid travelers who enjoy exploring new cultures and destinations, and we have recently discovered a love for cooking and experimenting with new recipes together. I am also an enthusiastic reader who enjoys getting lost in a good book.
