What an absolute privilege it is to take care of children! I am a board certified pediatric anesthesiologist who gets to care for the child and their family during the perioperative period. Whether it’s an emergency or a routine procedure, I am able to give the most compassionate, innovative, and skilled care to these precious patients during their surgery or diagnostic/therapeutic procedure. As a mom of two children who have needed surgeries and procedures, I can relate to the stress of having a child who needs surgery. I am there to assure the family and the child that I will give them the highest level of care, and that I will do everything that is humanly possible to keep their child safe. I enjoy working in a team of skilled and compassionate physicians and nurses who provide healing, peace, and comfort to children and their families.

My husband Jonathan and I have two precious children, Reese and Sam, and a dog named Maggie. We are thrilled to get to live in Colorado and enjoy the beautiful scenery of such a majestic place.

Clinical interest for patients

I have many clinical interests. The first is managing pediatric perioperative hemorrhage. I have given several local and state-level lectures about the management of perioperative transfusion, bleeding management, and tranexamic acid administration to children.

My second clinical area of interest is pediatric neurotrauma and the management of pediatric traumatic brain injury. At my previous institution I created a pediatric neurotrauma protocol that reduced hemorrhage.

As many other anesthesiologists, I take a great interest in pediatric regional anesthesia and also in pediatric airway management.

Research interest for patients

I am interested writing and researching ERAS protocols (enhanced recovery after surgery) associated with large pediatric surgeries including cranial vault reconstruction and posterior spinal fusion.
