- Research interest for patients
-
My research interests primarily focus on investigating the role of antibodies and Fc-mediated effector functions in Tuberculosis and HIV/TB co-infection. My research program aims to understand how antibodies modulate innate and adaptive immune responses in TB, how these responses are altered in the setting of HIV co-infection, and to develop improved prognostic biomarkers for the development of active TB. We are also interested in applying these approaches to other infectious diseases, to inform prognostic and therapeutic approaches in a broader spectrum of infectious disease.
Keywords: Tuberculosis, HIV/TB co-infection, Non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections (NTMs), Antibodies, Innate effector cells, Fc-mediated effector function, Fc receptors, Neutrophil function
