Katherine Tzou, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Columbus, Ohio, completed her internship in Preliminary Medicine at the University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont, and completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education, College of Medicine, Jacksonville, Florida. She stayed on staff at Mayo Clinic Florida from 2012 – 2022. She has been board certified in Radiation Oncology through the American Board or Radiology since 2013 and joined the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2022. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, abstracts, and book chapters. She has served on several national committees including the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). She serves as an exam writer and oral board examiner for the American Board of Radiology (ABR). She is an Associate Senior Editor for Advances in Radiation Oncology and serves as a peer reviewer for several other journals including the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics, Rare Tumors, International Journal of Gynecological Cancer, International Journal of Particle Therapy, and Brachytherapy. Dr. Tzou has expertise in the treatment of genitourinary (GU) and gynecologic (GYN) malignancies, as well as in the application of brachytherapy and stereotactic body radiotherapy/radiosurgery for a variety of cancer types.
