To me, excellent patient care is treating each patient as an individual and getting to know them as a person. This gives insight into their personal health issues, health concerns and history, which allows for more complete care.
The way I practice this is by keeping communication open and coming up with a mutually agreed upon plan so that patients are more active participants in their healthcare. My goal is for patients to leave the office feeling like I listened to their concerns and that their time was valued.
