Additional Information: Joe Powell is a physical therapist with a strong passion for helping individuals with neurological conditions restore independence, improve mobility, and enhance overall quality of life. Practicing since 2011, he specializes in patient-centered rehabilitation focused on functional outcomes, safety, and long-term success beyond the clinic setting. His clinical approach emphasizes evidence-based treatment, individualized goal setting, and close collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support meaningful recovery.
Born and raised in Michigan, Joe earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology from Michigan State University in 2007 and completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Wayne State University in 2011. He joined UCHealth in 2014, where he has continued to develop expertise in neurological rehabilitation and functional mobility training across diverse patient populations.
In addition to clinical care, Joe values authentic leadership and strives to foster supportive environments for both patients and colleagues. He believes strong therapeutic relationships and open communication are essential components of successful rehabilitation and improved health outcomes.
Outside of the clinic, Joe enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife and two children. His interests include mountain biking, whitewater rafting, snowboarding, rock climbing, camping, and playing guitar. These personal pursuits reinforce his appreciation for movement, resilience, and helping others return to the activities they value most.
