My approach to treatment is collaborative, skill-based and solution focused. In working with me, my hope is that you can experience me as an ally. I will offer you solutions for managing and reducing stress and I will support you in adapting the techniques that we use in treatment to your own life circumstances. I will make every effort to understand where you are coming from.
I view the therapeutic space as a very special place where we can have conversations that might not always happen in other areas in our life. As a specialist in trauma, stress and anxiety I am certified to use evidence-based interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing to support my clients in achieving their goals.
I grew up in Lakewood, Colorado and graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO before receiving my Master’s degree at the University of Denver. In the time since starting my career, I have held roles as a therapist, caseworker, and trainer supporting my clients in navigating challenges in the wilderness, crises, forensic, long-term residential, integrated care, and outpatient settings.
Prior to working in psychology, I was a whitewater and wilderness guide. I am still very active in exploring the Colorado outdoors. In my free time you can find me backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, or out camping in the mountains with my partner and our puppy Rio.
