A CU Medicine provider.

When caring for a child who needs surgery, it must be remembered that the parents are intimately involved in the process. The child requires kindness and compassion while the parents need information and confidence in their child’s surgeon. I have dedicated my career to trying to provide for the needs of both my patients and their parents.

Clinical interest for patients

I am a general pediatric surgeon whose practice is exclusively for children and primarily for issues that involve the chest and abdomen. My practice encompasses most congenital GI anomalies, including anorectal malformations as well as congenital lung anomalies. I am also the trauma medical director for Children's Hospital Colorado Colorado Springs and provide care for most childhood injuries. My practice also includes abdominal wall defects such as various types of hernia, testicle issues such as torsion and undescended testicles, appendicitis, biliary disease and solid tumors of childhood. I perform most of my procedures using advanced, minimally invasive endoscopic techniques.

Finally, I have a background and training in fetal surgery. I provide prenatal counseling to pregnant women whose fetus (baby in the womb) has been discovered to have a surgical issue on prenatal ultrasound examinations.
